AVN Season (cont)

I’ve noted the lack of awards for kink, fetish and BDSM at AVN in the past. I think the last time, in 2013, there were only 3 vaguely relevant awards. This year, based on this list of winners, they’re now down to one. That’s the very generic ‘Best BDSM movie’. They don’t even break out separate awards for maledom and femdom. I doubt it’ll surprise anyone to learn that for the last three years that award has gone to a maledom movie. Breaking out every kinky niche into an award would probably be unmanageable, but I’d have thought top level awards for best male/female top/bottom would at least have been considered. AVN Season

The annual AVN awards were announced this weekend in Las Vegas. They style themselves as the ‘Oscars for Porn’ and, having attended them myself many years ago, I can confirm they’re as boring and repetitive as the Oscars and other similar industry award evenings tend to be. This year they were held at the Hard Rock Hotel in Vegas, which decided it’d be a smart move to harass and expel transgender performers. That’s based on what Lorelei Lee reported on her twitter feed. I liked Rain DeGrey’s recent post entitled – The secret of the dick. The secret in question is that dicks are not binary. I’m sure that when Tim Berners-Lee was inventing the world wide web, he wasn’t thinking it’d be used to exchange amusing articles on penis related injuries. Fortunately for us his idea took off, and we now get to enjoy articles like this on what people did their dicks in 2015. Its culled from a database kept on emergency room visits and proves that no matter how delicate and sensitive an appendage, there’s no limit to the kind of stupid stuff people will do with it. Technical difficulties

Eagle eyed readers may have noticed the lack of a blogroll on the right. That got wiped out when I was screwing around with wordpress trying to fix a problem related to people leaving comments. Unfortunately the comment problem still isn’t properly fixed and the blogroll got hit by friendly fire in the process. Luckily I’ve managed to find a cached copy of my frontpage with the old blogroll on one of the search engines, and therefore I at least now have the previous list of links. Next step is to go through it and rebuild the blogroll with the appropriate RSS feed links. It should be back by tomorrow. Of all the many mysterious of life – sex, death, religion, love – the greatest must be the mystery of wifi in hotels. Why is it that cheap hotels typically have great free wifi while expensive hotels charge for terrible wifi?
